Breakz blows the York scene up again with arrival of our next superstar DJ,
Mampi Swift!

On the 5th December we shall crank up the Ziggy’s sound system to accommodate this monster of drum and bass.

Support comes from two of Breakz’s all time greatest DJs, Illtrak and Tenchu, who return to York to battle back to back for mixing supremacy; current Breakz residents Spoonfed and Flux will flood the dance floor with the very best beats and bass on the DnB scene; Herbal Maffia’s eclectic mix-maestros Moxx and Jethro with unleash a mashup set of epic proportions; and resident dubstep genius Yenz will top the night with the dirtiest baselines lucking within his record collection…

Both a respected international DJ and producer, Mampi Swift has had releases on Playaz, Frontline, Suburban Base, and his own label Charge. In short, Swift has pumped out some of the anthems that have crafted the evolution of drum and bass, not to mention having a unique rolling set style that has crowds moving out of control across the globe.

This promises to be an epic evening of hardcore raving.

Breakz is set to kick start your academic year by presenting one of the biggest pioneers of the drum and bass movement - Nicky Blackmarket.

Nicky B has shaped the scene since its inception, his DJing career stretches to the furthest corners of the globe, he runs the world renowned Blackmarket Records shop in Soho; no one knows how to fire up a dance floor like this master of the art.

The Breakz residents will be supporting in full force, pounding out the best funk, soul, breakz, DnB, and dubstep on the scene.

Last time Nicky Blackmarket graced York it was the first time any ‘big time’ DnB DJ had visited in years - it was massive, and the atmosphere has been unrivalled since!

Join us as we one again launch York into the underground music scene in true Breakz style: a packed dance floor, the ’system cranked, and the best music from the finest DJs we can lay our hands on. We’ll see you there…

This Friday York’s two drum and bass titans clash head on head in Ziggy’s to bring you a night of the very best tunes from our very best DJs. Headlining the battle is Breakz’s very own bass-juggling scratch-god Illtrack, who’s throwing his skills against Herbal Mafia’s resident mixing maestro Futureproof. There’ll be no holding back, this will be one of the best dance nights to have hit York.

Coming soon to York… ED RUSH! On Friday 7 March, Breakz brings you Ed Rush, headlining a night of drum and bass mayhem in Ziggy’s. This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable event, with a choice selection of breaks, dubstep and some of the best D&B you’ll ever hear.

Ed Rush features prominently amongst the current leaders of new school drum and bass, and was one of the principal drivers behind the resurgence of the dark dnb sound, pushing it to new levels. He is credited with introducing the techstep and neurofunk styles, and changing the direction of the scene towards the sound we know and love today. Ed Rush is undoubtedly one of the biggest influences on modern drum and bass.
