The forum now supports RSS news feeds so people can subscribe and receive updates via their newsreader. This means we can keep everyone up to date with all events as they are posted, rather than having to bunch them together into an email. We've started promoting this, so hopefully it means more people finding out about your events too. This feed is also used to update the listings on the home (http://www.breakzdjs.com/) and events (http://www.breakzdjs.com/events/) pages (note that it can take up to 60 minutes to add or update your content).

A few things to consider:

Most newsreaders update every 1-4 hours. So if you edit your post quickly everything will be fine, but if you leave it for a while most people will probably already have downloaded the old text. Some newsreaders (e.g. NewsGator, probably Google) will reflect later changes; others will not.

Only the first post in a thread is downloaded, so put important content in there.

BBCode is translated into HTML, so links and formatting should largely get through unscathed.

Pictures you attach with the board attachment function will be displayed as a link. If you reference a picture using an [img] tag, this will be displayed as a picture. I don't think there's anything I can do to get them all to show. Sorry.
Update: Looks like this may be a problem with some (older?) RSS readers. FeedDemon 1.5 didn't work for me, but the latest version and viewing the feed in IE 7 or Firefox is fine.

You can subscribe to the Events RSS feed by putting this link (http://feeds.feedburner.com/breakzevents) http://www.breakzdjs.com/images/rss20.png (http://feeds.feedburner.com/breakzevents) into your newsreader. While you're at it, you may also want to subscribe to the main site feed (http://www.breakzdjs.com/feed/) http://www.breakzdjs.com/images/rss20.png (http://www.breakzdjs.com/feed/) too.

To prevent spam posts coming through to people's newsreaders (as happened earlier today), I've had to stop people from posting new threads in this forum.

If you have an event to advertise and would like to post details, please get in touch (info@breakzdjs.com) and I'll upgrade your account to a Promoter one (so you can post threads again :)).

I've tried to change the accounts of everyone who currently posts about events here. If I've forgotten you then I apologise - please email so I can sort things out.
