Hello Everyone.
We are currently trying to set up DJ'ing lessons for some of our members.
If anyone is interested in either learning or teaching, then post here and hopefully you can be matched with a student or tutor.

shite, did no-one get back about this?

Looks as though not!

If anyone fancies noodlin with my decks (CDs only - sorry to dissappoint!) I live in Vanbrugh, and can arrange a time(dro100@york.ac.uk). Or perhaps we should run a series of lectures / workshops, to be held in andy's garage :p

Tell you what, post here if yer interested and we'll sort something out. Make sure to say whether you want to be a vinyl crusader or a filthy CD traitor.

Also I highly recommend the excellent Deejaysystemâ„¢ Mk-I free edition, which can be found at http://www.deejaysystem.com/download.asp
It works exactly like CD decks for running mp3s, it accepts keyboard commands, in fact you could do an entire set on the thing. Thats how I started anyway.

As I said in the newsletter, we're hoping to set up some (slightly) more formal sessions as well when we get our decks. If you're interested in this or Dave's offer, please post here or email djlessons@breakzdjs.com.

We got our decks over the weekend, and we've now booked a room for our first session. It's this Thursday, at 1900 in G/045. We're planning on keeping it pretty informal (though Bill did threaten to give a PowerPoint presentation on musical theory), so bring some tunes if you have them, maybe a beer and certainly yourself.

We'd be grateful if you emailed us (djlessons@breakzdjs.com) first to let us know you're coming, but we're not going to check your details on the door... :p
