This Friday York’s two drum and bass titans clash head on head in Ziggy’s to bring you a night of the very best tunes from our very best DJs. Headlining the battle is Breakz’s very own bass-juggling scratch-god Illtrack, who’s throwing his skills against Herbal Mafia’s resident mixing maestro Futureproof. There’ll be no holding back, this will be one of the best dance nights to have hit York.

Coming soon to York… ED RUSH! On Friday 7 March, Breakz brings you Ed Rush, headlining a night of drum and bass mayhem in Ziggy’s. This is guaranteed to be an unforgettable event, with a choice selection of breaks, dubstep and some of the best D&B you’ll ever hear.

Ed Rush features prominently amongst the current leaders of new school drum and bass, and was one of the principal drivers behind the resurgence of the dark dnb sound, pushing it to new levels. He is credited with introducing the techstep and neurofunk styles, and changing the direction of the scene towards the sound we know and love today. Ed Rush is undoubtedly one of the biggest influences on modern drum and bass.

Pandora will be blocked in the UK from 15 Jan.

As you probably know, in July of 2007 we had to block usage of Pandora outside the U.S. because of the lack of a viable license structure for Internet radio streaming in other countries. It was a terrible day. We did however hold out some hope that a solution might exist for the UK, so we left it unblocked as we worked diligently with the rights organizations to negotiate an economically workable license fee. The legendary Bryan Gee alongside Jumpin’ Jack Frost headline a night in Ziggys that will blow your mind!

This duo founded the famous and influential record label V-Recordings 15 years ago – now responsible for producing tunes by the likes of Roni Size, Ed Rush & Optical, Dillinja, DJ Die and DJ Krust.

Clocking over 40 years of DJing experience between them, they have played regularly at events such as A.W.O.L, Movement (London’s longest running DnB night), and host regular shows on London’s most notorious pirate radio station, Kool FM.
